Korea

After many wars, takeovers, and disagreements, Korea continues to be split into two countries: North Korea and South Korea. Located in East Asia, North Korea is a communist country that aligns with strict laws. From state-controlled domestic programming to hair restrictions, North Korea is far from a democracy.

 

The capital of North Korea is Pyongyang and the official language is Korean. North Korea has more

than 25 million people living in the country.

 

South Korea, on the other hand, contains more than 49 million people. This democratic nation has Korean as its official language and Seoul as its capital.

Sri Lanka

Sri Lanka was discovered by Portugal in the 16th century.  Formerly named Ceylon, Sri Lanka became independent in 1948 and officially changed its name to the present in 1972. Located south of India in the Indian Ocean, Sri Lanka is known as the teardrop of India. Take a look at a map of India and Sri Lanka and you will understand the nickname. Russia

Russia is the largest country in the world by area. It is the only country that lies on the continents of Europe and Asia. This year, Russia will host the 2018 FIFA World Cup. So, let's learn about the culture together. Let Cleo share with you information about her culture.

Puerto Rico

Puerto Rico is a beautiful island in the Caribbean. Officially named the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, it is the home of the Piña colada beverage, magnificent beaches, and people who embrace their heritage. Following the Spanish-American War of 1898, Puerto Rico became a territory of the United States. Does that make Puerto Ricans Americans or are they just "second-class citizens?" Haiti

Haiti is located in the Caribbean on the island of Hispaniola. The model for revolution took place in this country. At one point, Haiti was ruled by France.
